Bing Webmaster Tools integration: Bing's own figures, beside your log
The Bing Webmaster Tools integration in Skald syncs Bing's clicks and impressions per day, and its top queries and pages with their position. One API key, typed in the dashboard, then every site of the install can connect.
Bing Webmaster Tools integration means reading Bing's own search figures into another tool through Bing's API. Skald shows them on Traffic › Search beside Google's, and beside what your server log saw of Bing itself: Bingbot's crawls, checked against Bing's published addresses, and visits from Bing. One of the Skald integrations.

[01] what Bing gives
Bing Webmaster Tools data in Skald, next to Google's
Bing gives fewer figures than Google, and Skald says so instead of filling the gaps. Pick an engine to see what its API hands over. Both sit beside the Search Console integration on one tab.
Which engine? pick one
Bing: clicks and impressions per day, and its top queries and pages with their position, updated weekly. No total beside the top rows, so a Bing table is only what Bing returned.
| What Skald gets | Bing Webmaster Toolsits API | Google Search Consoleits API |
|---|---|---|
| Clicks and impressions per day | Yes | Yes, with CTR and position |
| Top queries and pages, with position | Yes, updated weekly | Yes |
| A total the tables add up to | No, top rows only | Yes, gaps shown as Not given by Google |
| Countries, devices, search appearance | No | Yes |
| History on connect | All Bing keeps, in one answer | None, 3 or 16 months |
| AI answer citations | No: Copilot's report has no documented API | No: the API names no AI figure |
As each engine's API gave it when we checked in October 2026.
[02] connect
Connect Bing Webmaster Tools in three steps
One API key for the whole install, typed in the dashboard. No shell, no file to upload.
Skald keeps the key on the server and shows only its last 4 characters after that. Each site then picks its own Bing site. Only a site that covers this site's host names is offered.
Make the key in Bing
Bing Webmaster Tools › Settings › API access › API key.
Type it in Skald, once
An install admin: Settings › Integrations › Search › Bing API key.
Per site: find, test, connect
Find my sites, pick the site, Test connection, Connect. Bing gives all it keeps in one answer, so there is no history to choose.
[03] how fresh it is
Bing figures, synced every 6 hours with Google's
Skald syncs Bing and Google together, four times a day, one site after another. Bing updates its own figures weekly, and Skald treats a Bing day as final after 10 days.
A failed sync says why in plain words on the Search tab and on Integrations, with what to do. The first failure sends one mail to the site's mail recipients; no more until it works again.

[04] Bing in your log
What your log shows of Bing that Bing does not
Bing's figures say how you did in its results. Your server log says what Bing did on your site, and who came from it. Skald counts that side itself.
Bingbot, verified
Each Bingbot request is checked against the addresses Bing publishes. A fake Bingbot is filed as "claims to be Bingbot", under bots and scanners.
What Bing crawled
Which of your sitemap's pages Bing fetches, which it never does, and the errors it meets.
Visits from Bing and Copilot
People who came from bing.com, as a search source. A Copilot click that carries its address counts as people from an AI answer.
[05] what it does not do
What the Bing Webmaster Tools integration does not do
Bing's API is narrower than Google's. Skald shows exactly what it gave, and no more.
What it does not do
- No total beside Bing's top tables, so a Bing table never covers the whole site.
- No countries, devices or search appearance: Bing's API does not give them.
- No Copilot citations: Bing's AI Performance report had no documented API in October 2026.
- Bing's figures are Bing's. They are never added to a Skald figure.
- Bing updates weekly, so its newest week can lag behind your log.

questions
Bing Webmaster Tools integration FAQ
Straight answers, including what Skald does not do.
What does Skald sync from Bing Webmaster Tools?
Clicks and impressions per day, and Bing's top queries and top pages with their average position. Bing updates these weekly and gives only its top rows, with no total beside them, so a Bing table in Skald is what Bing returned, never the whole site.
How do I connect Bing Webmaster Tools to Skald?
Make an API key in Bing Webmaster Tools under Settings › API access. An install admin types it once in Settings › Integrations › Search. Then for each site: Find my sites, pick it, Test connection, Connect. Bing gives all it keeps in one answer, so there is no history to choose.
Does Skald show Bing Copilot citations?
No. Bing's AI Performance report had no documented API when we checked in October 2026, so Skald does not sync it. A click from Copilot that carries its address shows in your log as a visit from an AI answer, counted as people with Copilot as the source.
Is the Bingbot in my log really Bing?
Skald checks each Bingbot request's address against the list Bing publishes. A request that uses Bingbot's name from another address is not counted as Bing: it is filed under bots and scanners.
How fresh are the Bing figures?
Skald syncs Bing and Google together, every 6 hours. Bing updates its own figures weekly, and Skald treats a Bing day as final after 10 days.
Do I need Bing if I already connect Search Console?
No, each is optional. Bing is a second engine's view: its own queries and positions, which Search Console never shows. Connect both and the Search tab switches between Google and Bing.
